Corvette Fuel Pump in 2002 Firebird???

I was told by a shop I'm trusting to do a motor swap that they can use an OEM Corvette Fuel Pump (in tank) in place of my current pump. Is this true and will it fit and opperate without throwing any trouble codes? I'll be running 400 HP...

What is so special about a Corvette (from what year?) fuel pump? Sounds fishy.

Not sure on the year. I was told that because they have had trouble with aftermarket pumps, it would be safer with a corvette OEM pump and they didn't have access to a walboro or racetronix pump through their vendors, which didn't make sense to me either.

Sounds to me like a good way to charge you alot of extra money that is not needed.

How much does the pump cost? I will need a new fuel pump either way as my V6 pump isn't going to support the V8.
