Re: Battery relocation kit

I honestly cant see how. Seen it on plenty cars and never heard of a issue. I dont think Ill do it for my street car (kill switch) unless the track makes me.

Re: Battery relocation kit

The Optima is not a "dry cell" battery. It is a lead-acid design, with unique spiral plates, and a claimed higher purity lead. The risk with lead-acid batteries, in addition to the potential for filling the car with acid in an accident, is "gassing" during normal operation. The battery emits hydrogen gas, which is explosive. While the Optima is a "sealed" battery, it is still capable of gassing under excessive charging rates. This is confirmed in the FAQ on the Optima website. It should still be installed in a sealed and vented housing in your trunkless, hatch-back F-Body. The requirement is not just for "Pro Stock" class, the requirement is included under the NHRA General Requirements for all cars in competition.
