How much room was there between the metal you cut through for the trap door and the tank itself. I will be putting in som self taping screws and I dont want the to be too long and go into the tank. Waht do you guys think? TIA!

 

not very much at all. Get the shortest self tapping screws you can find that will go through both pieces of metal

 

Just get some 1" screws and you'll be fine.

 

1" screws or do like I did, get a sheet of tin, cut it to size and put blue rtv around it....and put something heavy on it so it drys...came out nice and tight :-)

No its not that I'm doing the trap door mod, I am mounting nitrous bottle brackets. Thanks thought for the help!!!

 

id say gauge the thickness of your bracket and the shetmetal on the car and go with a screw 1/4" or so longer.
