A friend of mine does a lot of rally racing and he puts Torco in the fuel tank to raise the octane to over 100 so that he can run 15# plus of turbo boost. He claims that if he runs this much boost then the engine knocks real bad.

He is going to get me some for my dyno run this weekend.

Anyone ever use Torco and what were the results?

Well, unless you really need the higher octane, you won't see any benifit to running it. Ideally, you should run the lowest octane you can that doesn't cause any knock. It's easier on the wallet that way.

 

Your friend needs higher octane with 15# of boost. You shouldn't need it, with no real internal changes. Do you have any evidence your are experiencing knock retard of any kind?

 

No evedence yet of knock, I am hoping to hook it up to a laptop this weekend too. I really did not expect any major gains from the mix.
