So my dad sort of smashed up my Z28 a couple weeks ago (not his fault). Aside from the usual headaches, the adjuster told me the OEM fenders are not available, leaving used or aftermarket as the choices. I was talking about it with a friend last week and he brought up the point that aftermarket front fender probably means metal, not plastic. I'd rather not have one plastic and one metal fender on the car...

Is there a source for OEM LH front fenders? GM Parts Direct lists only the RH one (10284966) still available (figures) so just maybe the adjuster wasn't lying to me. Tomorrow I'm going to call Dal and the body shop. I am hoping someone can help me!

I dont think the OEM ones are metal. I have a drivers side front fender in my garage. Not sure if its OEM or aftermarket but if you want it send me a PM and ill let it go pretty cheap.

 

Check with a dealer. The adjuster may be wrong.

 

I don't think the aftermarket fender would be metal. They usually have to meet the basic specs of the original... at least for repairs paid for through insurance. At worst, I'd imagine the gaps might be a little different.

 

That's scary. The gaps are pretty lousy from GM!
