Another power window problem!

So i searched and searched to no avail so i thought id ask a question! So recently the power windows and radio stopped working, searched on here and narrowed it to the RAP module. Removed the motor and looked at the board of the module and sure enough it had burnt in two in one spot. So after being quoted the price of $107 for a new one i decided to solder the spot. After returning the module into its place the radio worked but still the windows didnt.

-What else should i check? I looked in the fuse box and touched the 30 amp breaked fuse for the windows and it was extremely hot, like to the point of burning my finger...could this be a problem or is something the culprit for throwing the breaker?

Thanks for all the help

Interesting. I have the same issue with my 98. It hasn't failed completely yet but sometimes when I first start the car, the radio and the windows will not function. It usually starts working within minutes. Where is this RAP module located?

On the firewall beneath the dash. Go to shoebox's website it shows it...it actually sits in a little pocket so you can see it very well. But im pretty sure my problem is a little more complex than just the RAP module. I think 98 were a little different as GM changed some of this stuff in 97...do a search and you will find alot of info!

There is no RAP module on his 98. Starting in 1996 a body control module (BCM) was added, and incorporated the functions of the RAP module.
