Re: 98 speedo

I believe this is how it is, according to the service manuals:
97 Firebird is the same connector as 98 F-bodies
97 Camaro and earlier are different from 98

Re: 98 speedo

Nothing from 98 up will work in your 94 as far as I know (no expert here). No Firebird cluster will work either. I think a 94-97 Camaro will work like was stated before. Not sure about 93. I am basing al this this on what I see in the service manuals that shows the 94 and 96 Camaro having a different connector from any 98, and different from any year Firebird. I have no experience with these parts.

Re: 98 speedo

You can put a 97 dash cluster in a 93 through 96. But you will need to change out the dash and center
consol, and repin the cluster conector to the 97 style. Even though the cluster shape is the
same for 97 and up the
electronics are different for the
various guages in the 98 and up.

Re: 98 speedo

You need the connector for the 98 cluster, the plastic connector that came from the 98 . I believe the 94 and 98 connectors are shaped differently so the 94 wont fit in the 98 cluster. My car was done when I bought it, so I dont know which wires go where. You would need the wirring diagrams for both cars to do the repin. But it is doable.

You still need to repin the harness for the dash .
