2002 B4c Question

HELLO.

I OWN A 2002 B4C CAMARO FROM THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL I PURCHASED OFF OF EBAY A FEW MONTHS AGO. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW I CAN TELL WHAT NUMBER CAMARO I HAVE IN PRODUCTION FOR B4C'S TOTALLY PRODUCED IN 2002. I KEEP HEARING THERE ARE ONLY 543 OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT. I LOOKED UP A COUPLE OF SIGHTS THAT TELL YOU HOW TO DO IT BUT I'M CONFUSED. MINE IS BLACK, AUTOMATIC. I HAVE THE ORIGINAL TITLE FROM GM THAT WAS GIVEN TO THE FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL WITH 10 MILES ON THE CAR. CAR IS EXTREMELY FAST. I ALSO HERE ALLOT OF PEOPLE SAYING THE CARS CAME WITH 3:23'S MY CAR HAS 3:42S FOR REAR GEARS. HAS IT LISTED IN THE RPO CODES ON THE DOOR. ALSO NOTICED CRUISE CONTROL HAS BEEN MODIFIED TO ACCEPT COMMANDS OVER 7OMPH. I CAN SET MINE IN THE THREE DIGIT RANGE EXAMPLE: 100 MPH - PLUS. CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT AND TELL ME HOW I CAN TELL WHAT NUMBER IN PRODUCTION MY CAR FALLS INTO? I PLAN ON GOING TO ALLOT OF POLICE CAR SHOWS. I JUST WENT TO ONE IN NORTH HAVEN CONNECTICUT AND TOOK FIRST PLACE FOR UNMARKED RETIRED CRUISER. I HAVE IN CAR VIDEO, RADAR, UHF, VHF, CB, SCANNERS, LED'S, SHOT GUN RACK, LAPTOP ETC. I CAN SEND PICS IF YOU LIKE. THANKS ANGELO IN CT DETAILEROFSTARS@AOL.COM

GM generally does not "serialize" specific options. Hence, there is no way to tell which specific car yours was of the 583 B4C's produced in 2002. (Camaro White Book shows 708?). The last six digits of your VIN will tell you where your car stands in the order of the total 2002 Camaro production of 40,000+.

Definitely odd to find a GU6 rear axle in a 4-speed automatic.

I have that link thank you. I know that was for total production. I was just trying to narrow it down just to the B4C's in production. What I meant was the numbers in which the B4C's fell into. Was trying to find out where it feel into the 583. May be to hard to trace or allot of time. And your right about the GU5 my bad. On my RPO says GU5 but when the rear blew and we pulled it out their was a GU6 342 rear in there. I have no idea why. I still have the housing

And that's what I told you GM does not keep track of. There is no way to find out that you might have the 315th of the 583 A4 B4C's made in 2002. Its not like the SS's, where SLP put a serial number on each car they converted, and kept a record of the order in which they produced them.

It would require that someone establish a website, where all B4C owner went and posted their VIN #'s. And even then, unless all the owners posted, it would be sort of meaningless.

What value do you see in knowing yours was a particular number in the production sequence?

Yeah your right it would be real hard to come up with that info. Someone should set up a website. Wish I could but I don't have the experience or the time. Thanks for all your advice

It would be cool if you posted some pics of the car though, especially the inside.
