1996 Camaro SS-Mcleod Street Twin Install Issues
Hello all! I need some help. I finally got a hold of a street twin setup and pulled the trans last night and installed it. When going back in with the transmission I am having clearance issues. I cannot get the transmission high enough in the tunnel to go through the throw out bearing now. It is about a half inch off. I tried putting a jack on the front dampener to lower the rear and that did not work. I imagine the dual disc setup sticks back farther than the single disc i had it in which is causing the issue. Is there a trick to this or any tips anyone can give me before I pull all my hair out? Thank you in advance for the help!

I’ve just replaced the clutch & bearing in ‘95Z28.
clutch housing wouldn’t clear the tunnel (by about an inch) to refit the T56.
my headers were touching the frame stoppingthe motor from hanging down enough, so had to remove most of the bolts and jacked front of motor up enough to clear.
you could possibly undo the motor mounts and lift it to tilt, but i think you would need to support the motor from above so it doesn’t fall down the back onto you.
this way would have been quicker but i didn’t have access to my hoists where the car was.
