Would optispark misfire change based on temperature?

My engine fires fairly decent until it gets warm, then once it gets warm definitely is not firing on all cylinders. From my experiences with other cars, I would assume that a plugwire has gone bad, but my friend insists its the optispark. Would the optispark be temperature dependent just like the plug wires?

Lt1 engines are apt to miss if the temp sensor in the water pump area is bad

Heat soak problems can affect the IC module and the optical cam position sensor in the Opti.

With that being said, it seems to me that it would be best to replace the optispark as well as the plug wires if I'm going to go in there at all.
