walbro fuel pump problem

I put a walbro in my car 2 months ago and the car ran great. I washed it the other day and pulled it in the garage and a few hours later i fired it up and it runs like crap. I loaned my fuel pressure gauge out so i cant check it for sure but pushing on the schrader valve with a little screwdriver i have nothing up there. You can turn the key on and off a few times and it will finally start but it wont rev hardly at all. I pulled the fuel filter off and it was clear. I then turned the key and watched the flow from the line and it shot out about 10 inches, i figured it would blast to the front of the car.

Think maybe you got a little crazy with the hose and got that opti wet? they dont like water and they will let you know when they get any kind of moisture in them. You can really make any assumptions without hooking up a fuel pressure gage. Or put one in the cowl of your hood like me. ha

i don't think it is the opti since i am not getting much fuel pressure to the schrader valve i will check the fuel pressure tomorrow since i have my gauge back now. Has anyone had trouble with these walbro pumps going bad? Anyone ever turn the key on with the fuel filter off to see how much fuel the pump sqirts out? Mine shot out about 12 inches seemed like it had air mixed with it.

i have primed the pump with the line off before the filter and yes it will spray a good 1'. Its impossible to diagnose fuel problems without seeing fuel pressure. Pushing on the shraeter valve is no idication of fuel pressure. I probaly would have done the same thing if i didnt have a gauge though

I pulled the pump out today and the hose had blowed off the the end of the quick coupler. I reattached it and it started and ran fine but the fuel pressure drops off really quick. Is that black hose that came with the pump able to hold 40 psi?
