Plugs and wires

I am going to replace my plugs and wires, and I was wondering what wires you guys would recommend? And how long do you think it will take to replace? I do not have headers, so I believe it will be tougher.

For wires, I have always been happy with the Taylor sets. Also, MSD and even another set of stock Delco wires will work well. As for plugs, I like using the NGK plugs, but again, another stock Delco set will do the job. As for the actual procedure, it will easily take you several hours I'm sure.

With that kind of mileage on stock wires, I would say they are due for replacement.

If the wires are to the point where they are causing a power loss, then you will simply recoup what you have been losing. The wires themselves will not create power gains.

Are you sure they are the original wires? I would imagine after 13 years and 150k miles they would be in real, real bad shape. I did my wires because they were almost burned in half and the rubber insulation was cracking and falling off. 4 of the wires i pulled off were still in good shape and looked like the new ones just dirtier.

Taylor wires and NGK plugs is what i used. As far as time, it depends on your mechanical ability. On the books its listed as a 4-6 hour job for a repair shop. I would set aside atleast a day, just to be on the safe side.

If your current coil isn't causing you any issues, then you should be fine. However, considering that coils are relatively inexpensive, you could always replace it for good measure. Another stock Delco would work or you can go with an aftermarket alternative like MSD.
