Need Help ASAP: Fuel Pump

replacing mine and was thinking of putting in a walbro 255lph.

1. will the extra flow make my gas mileage worse? did anyone notice there's go down after the install?

2. Is it worthwhile to use this pump may car will only have heads/cam at most.

3. Will this fit my 97z? if not how do i modify it?

thanks in advance

It will make no difference at all and it isn't needed. OTOH, it will work fine and have extra flow available if you do need it art some point (like if you add nitrous, for example). So, if you need a new pump anyway, it's a fine choice. But don't expect any gain.

nice cheap insurance. you can never have too much fuel pump, not to mention you can get a 255 walbro for less than going to a part store and getting a crappy stock replacement

The stock pump is not crappy. OTOH, if you mean a no-name import from some el-cheapo parts store, I see your point.

what horsepower level would require the added flow? I am getting ported heads and a cam so around 400 at the wheels

Also, my sending unit is still good should I replace it or will it last? How much does a sending unit cost?

Easy way of knowing if you stock fuel pump can handle the extra demands is to put a fuel pressure gauge on the car and check to see if there are any pressure dips under load.
