Question Fuel Pump Suggestions

I have a 1995 Camaro Z-28. I am soon going to install a 383 Stroker motor. I am also going to put 36 Pound fuel injectors into it as well. I am wondering if the stock fuel pump will be sufficient enough for this or will I need to install a higher volume fuel pump instead.

Do you know if the current fuel pump is the original one? How many miles are on the car? For the cost of a new pump such as Walbro 255 with the Racetronics wiring harness http://www.racetronix.com/RX-FLT1-FPKG-2.html it would seem to make sense to replace it to ensure that new 383 lives...relatively cheap insurance.

No. It is not the original one. I bought a new one about 2 years ago, and the shop that is going to install my 383, also installed that fuel pump for me. I bought the fuel pump at Kragen for about $ 130.00. All in all it cost me $600.00 total for the installation as opposed to the Chevy dealer who wanted $1600.00 to install an new OEM pump.

Unless you can get a part # and track down the flow curve for the pump you actually have in your tank, I don't see how anyone can say if its up to the task. Replacing it with a stock pump would not be a good choice. The 255 LPH Walbro would be the logical choice, as indicated above.

do you recomend ordering the complete kit from racetronics or just the wiring?.. I hear they have a problem with the intake being not offset on there pumps, and the o ring not fitting or somehting.

I know im going to want the wiring from for racetronics, then where do you recomend getting the pump?
Thanks

this is cheaper and appears to have the ofset intake needed for out cars.

is that correct?.. also, anyone ever try this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/255-L...lenotsupported

it also has the ofset intake, and they claim to be quieter?..

I have one of the TREperformance pumps it's a year old now and it's working good so far.
They are cheaper on there web sight.

I would buy the racetronics wiring harness because when I got the pump the wires that came with the pump were a bigger gauge than the stock wires.
The one I got last year did not have the off set like the new ones.
