fuel pump problem?

I just installed a new walbro fuel pump and everything went fine until today. I did this yesterday and started and drove it about 4 times since and it started and drove perfect. Today on my way home when i was about to go at a green light it decided to die on me an would not start back up. I can hear the fuel pump coming on still in back but the car doesnt turn over. What could this be? ive heard wiring and other things but the fuel pump is actually priming like normal. It isnt as lou as normal but if u stand in back while some one else turns the key u can hear it coming on. Any info would be great. Thanks

Re: fuel pump problem?

well thanks for the lil bit of help.. but i removed the pump today and it was one of the main hoses that came loose due to the fact i forgot to put a clamp on it.. i put the new filter on also and the car seems to be running great now

Re: fuel pump problem?

k well the car isnt starting now. im planning on checking everything out tomorrow. I wasnt able to even buy a fuel pressure gauge over the weekend because im broke till payday tomorrow. But anyways does anyone have any idea what this could be? The other day it was running good after i removed the pump and fixed the hose that slipped off the fitting. I also added seafoam to the full tank of gas. It drove good for a few hours and that night it was stuttering and losing power when it hit like 3500 rpms. It was having trouble starting again as well. I just dont get this? so far i just replaced the pump and filter and im just not sure what to do even if i find out the pressure tomorrow. Like what are the different causes based on what the actual pressure may be anyway?

Is the pump a real Walbro or a knock-off?

Re: fuel pump problem?

Pop one of your plugs and check to see if it's fouled out, my car had been having some similar issues to yours. Check your fuses too, more specifically the ones for your injectors. Does the pump sound sluggish when it primes on your initial startup?
