fuel pump isolator

I am about to put in my second intank 255lph walbro pump this weekend in the past three years. Does any one see an advantage or disadvantage to leave the origanal foam isolator sock on the new pump? I did last time.

I don't run them. Usually the FP has a screen to restrict ingestion of harmfull particulates. I run a secondary A_motive large fuel filter before the rail. I had a difficult time fitting the sock(s) over the FP inlets with the two (2) pump set-up.
