fuel pump?

For the last few months, my car makes an audible noise that comes from the rear of the car, almost like the sound some cars make when you leave the keys in the ignition and open a door, like a buzzing sound.

Well, i was wondering, is that my fuel pump making the noise and does that mean its going bad? What are some ways to tell if the pump is going?

Yes, it is the pump, no it is not bad, you should have always heard it I think.

Is the sound steady, or does it sound like it is being shaken?

Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if it is up to spec.
