i decided to install my headers on my own with the help of my old man. i read tons of post on how to do the swap, with the help of you all everything went fine until the end. everything is installed now except the battery.
when i went to hook up the battery the car started wanting to ignite without even having the keys in the ignition switch. it also sparked like crazy, i have no idea what this is, is there any routine i have to do when connecting the starter back on. it seems to me that the starter will be the issue. also when i was reading the manual to try and find an answer it mentioned something about a lockswitch on the starter or something like that.
the only things i disconnected where:
the spark plugs and wires (i numbered them all to not lose track of them)
the alternator and the plug behind it
the coolant sensor on the driver side of the block
the O2 sensors (i used the wires provided by pacesetter to make them longer, would that cause a problem?)
the starter
and the little pipe that connects from the back of the intake to the header
any suggestions on fixing the problem are welcome
thanks to everyone in advance

I've never messed with a starter on my car but I do know from experince with small enginges that there is a switch that only allows current to flow to the starteter when you turn the key and open it... maybee that is the lockswitch you were talking about, but like I said I have never messed with it on my car
