There are 2 ways to install a new fuel pump. You can search the boards to find out.

One involves dropping the fuel tank and replacing the pump. The other involves cutting a hole in the bottom of the car to access the fuel tank.

"Best" is subjective. You have two choices: drop the tank or cut an access hole in the rear floor (there is a sticky in the fuel/ignition forum). An external pump will do no good if the internal pump does not work, so you can't get by without getting into the tank.

Look at the sticky in the fuel and ignition forum, please. Cutting is your choice.

As Shoebox noted, there is a "sticky" in the topic listing for the "Fuel and Ignition" forum. This thread should have been posted on that forum, since the "LT1 Based Engine Tech" forum is only for engine topics.

I'll move your post to the Fuel and Ignition forum.
