Where to spray N2O into turbo/intercooled engine?
Where to spray N2O into turbo/intercooled engine?
where should the spray go on a turbocharged engine with front mount air to air intercooling? between the intake filter and compressor or behind throttle body with a plate?
Re: Where to spray N2O into turbo/intercooled engine?
Same place you'd put it on a nitrous-only car. If you put it ahead of the compressor, the nitrous will displace some of the air that would have gone into the turbo. If you put it before the intercooler, the intercooler will not be as efficient because the nitrous cools the intake charge. This sounds counter-intuitive, but nitrous in the normal place will cool the intake charge even more because you get better cooling through the intercooler THEN the additional nitrous cooling.
Finally, where were you going to put the fuel nozzles? You can't expect the fuel to stay vaporized going through an intercooler - too much turbulence. The fuel will puddle and you'll end up going lean (BOOM!).

ĄSi'!
Although perhaps a better spot in your case might be a nozzle just in front of the throttle body rather than behind it - you get better fuel distribution that way with a wet shot. If you're planning on running a dry shot then placement isn't as important.
