Well I have to yank the engine back out to redo the pan fitting. Im thinking I would like to throw some dished pistons in it.

With stock heads, gasket and everything what would be my esitmated ratio with these?

The crank and rods were went through when the company did the factory rebuild. I just want to add the pistons. Will a balance be needed?

c0rey, the problem with those, is it will not give you a low enough ratio, and they are hyper eutectic.
Drop a LITTLE bit more money (49.95/piston) on some speed pro power-forged

I'm assuming you have a 350, not a 355, or anything like that?

for a 350 - http://store.summitracing.com/partde...F&autoview=sku
that will put you around 8.7:1 compression

So whats too low of compression? If I wanted to order pistons now while the engine is still in the car and I dont know if my chambers have been opened up or my deck height, could I just figure the chambers are wost case, Stock and a zero deck, and order pistons in the 8.5 range? then when the engines apart and I find out the deck isnt zero or the chambers ahve been opened up its just icing on the cake and I end up with a CR of <8.5?

I would try for 8.5-8.7/1 range. Nine to one seems to be a a real solid number.

I am aiming for 8.7/1 with a 383 when the time comes. If i don't move to the c5 world before then (car could go up for sale once its running solid. Depends on offers)

Wow that was fun used a different pan and redid the oil return that was leaking. Swapped pans with the engine in the car.

Things left

Put header gaskets on (remflex)
Put Bumper on
Get the right clamps for the Cold side(silicon stops fault!)
ReInstall everything and try it again! Maybe some better vids!

Never had an issue with them.... did you order clamps for your couplers or clamps for the pipe size??

Stock as in stock gm ones? I would

I did not rebalance last time - but I kept the same rods and crank and went from flat top srps to dished ones.

Weight difference was within about 5 grams on each so I left it alone.

Probably a 31's. Those 3.45's will be great on the highway but you'll be wishing for more at the track.
