Did you cut the steel bumper support? I just put my 4" thick intercool on and was trying to get the bumper on and it's TIGHT, had to cut a lot off the bumper.

EDIT- nvm I see that's what everyone does, going to cut mine now

alright.
We basically have the same build, except im going to have realquick build mine (i dont haev a welder lol), and im using the 218/230 cam instead of the 224/236
I ran a couple engine simulators, and the 224/236 has about 25HP more, but the 218/230 had about 20ft-lbs more

thanks for the quick response!!,

im seeing that the stock crank is a good choice as well for the build up as from what ive read through the older posts...so most likely the pistons and rods will be the forged parts, and ill use the stock crank...

I would have to go 30 over with those pistons correct? and this will attain the proper 9.5 to 1 compression over the stock 10.5 right?

actually, it will be about 8.6:1 compression which is proper for a forced induction build

you can also use speed pro powerforged pistons part #TRW-L2441F30
those are about 400. Their heavy, but bullet proof basically

isnt 8.6 a little low? i know its great for a f.i. setup but for a race car, this is going to be a cruiser

shouldnt 9.5 or 9.0 for that matter be fit?

edit: which are better then? the speed pro? if so might as well get those,

wow actually they are cheaper...interesting

any updates corey?

anyone know where to get the smaller height wise, yet longer intercoolers? I cant see that one being much use if its 75% covered up, like its ont a 240 or a sc300 so cutting the front bumper would look stupid IMO

No. A Race car you run more compression and a ton of boost and all the timing because you are playing with race gas and can push the motor much much harder.

If you are going a HUGE power setup and wanna make everything you can on pump, low compression is the only way to do it. A lot of guys go with in the 9's for their street cars, but the HUGE power street cars have under that.

yeah. its a car to have fun with, not looking to be a 2J slayer or anything like that...(Not that I would mind but you know)...Seems though its going to be far off away unless I delete my A/c which I'd really, really rather not do...But If its what I have to do to do it I might just have to go that route
