S-trim to YSi?

I have a friend wanting to switch from his s-trim to a ysi on his 94 Z. I was wondering what all you have t change to make it work? Can you use the sme brackets? If anyone has any pics and some info it would be nice.

Thanks!

The YSi is a pretty healthly blower for a big block, any reason why he want to go so big? A T-trim is good for 400-650 rwhp. Does he have plans to make more than that? The T-trim is a drop in replacement, the YSi would probably bolt up with some generic small block mounts but I bet there would be clearance issues with the factory serpentine belt set-up and the pulley will probably be where the electric fans are. Unless he is doing some high end 396 build I wouldn't run it, The power would be up top in the rpm band and it takes alot of HP to turn a bigger blower.

yeah he already makes 550rwhp with the s-trim @ 10psi. he looked at the t-trim upgrade, but wants to go with the YSi. He has plans to make around 850rwhp+. i have heard of a few people with the ysi on Lt cars. Just didn't know what they had to do to make it work.

I think the general consus when upping to the Ysi is a custom blower bracket vs the stock vortech brackets (the Ysi will bolt in) to keep the blower in there solid, and also to go with a big block hub on the crank along with getting the timing chain cover machined for the bigger hub and seal. Do a search on this forum. You'll find posts about it along with some pics too.
