Thanks You have a very nice set-up , although I am going to be running without an intercooler but after looking at your pics I will probably get a new tube made to go from the Discharge to the MAF

I traded my s-trim/aftercooler for a ys-trim/air-air, so my plumbing probably won't help you, but I can say that the car runs very well with a blow-through MAF. Here's a shot of the MAF location:

Thumbs up

Wow, Tim. Nice setup! That's very clean. Did you simply swap the inlet and outlet on the intercooler and fabricate tubing, or was it more involved than that?

I haven't done this yet, but is considering this one day when I get really bore. The following info was on the blown list, and it sounds like it will work well if you have an aftercooler or an intercooler.

>>>
You are exactly right. The people at Vortec indicated that this is why they don't locate the MAF in the blow thru position. They claimed the inlet temp in most instances would be too high and outside the range of the stock MAF/PCM boundaries. They claimed that this was their experience and the reason for locating the MAF at the inlet side for all of their kits. I found this not to be the case in my experience with my particular setup and thought this info might be of benefit to some.

Gm MAF's are temp compensated. This is why it works some other brands are not and they have problems.

completed. I relocated the MAF from the inlet side at the air cleaner under the car in the position specified by ATI and moved it to the blow thru position near the throttle body. Vortec claims this is not a good position because the inlet air temp is too high for the MAF to work properly. Maybe this is true with their systems without an intercooler, but with the ATI system and the twin intercoolers this relocation turned out to be a major improvement.

Chrisbequick,

Yes, I just swapped inlet for outlet on the intercooler. Without doing that I just could not make enough room to get the MAF located where it is. No other changes were made. It really was rather simple once I decided the intercooler didn't care which side was inlet or outlet.
