On my test mule, the pipes sit as low as the oil pan. my recommendation is to test fit the hotside and make sure everything fits as intended. All vehicles vary slightly, and a dent here or there may be needed... which is better to do on uncoated pipes. Everything is boxed up and ready to ship out tomorrow.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

Sweet. To bad I won't have the funds to put in in right away. I still got to save up for a fuel system, a 24X ignition and a a few other misc items.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

Got it today, looks confusing, but I'm sure everything will fit and function fine. I've still got a few more things to finish up before I can start on this build.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

Would I be able to run a low mount alternator with this setup? I have some notched Canton valve covers I was planning to use, but my new brodix heads(sick flow numbers btw) are perimeter bolt. Just looking for options for valve covers.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

You could always drill the valve covers to use perimeter bolts.

You have to run the alt. in the stock location.

I would have a machine shop drill/tap 4 holes in the head for the center bolt valvecovers to be used.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

A little update. Hopefully we'll have some dyno numbers Thursday. We were tuning the idle and other little things today making sure its ready for some WOT pulls. This cam has almost no lope at 700 rpm. Almost makes me wish I went bigger, but we'll see how it pulls. We are going to tune the motor out of boost first to get the timing and fuel somewhat where they need to be and then we'll see how it handles boost. Any bets on how much it will make with no boost?

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

Did you hook up the turbo setup? If so, just disconnecting the piping to the intake won't make it run like N/A. You are still kinking the exhaust by forcing it thru the turbo, so I wouldn't know where to even start on a guess for "N/A" type power.

Any pics of the engine bay and car for my website?

Yup. Using EFI Live to tune it.

Well, we're not going for maximum NA numbers, just trying to get the AFR and timing set up before we throw boost at it. Just hoping to simplify the tuning process. I think it we hold open the wastegate and BOV, it should bypass most of the boost. I'm waiting for my good camera to get here. My cell phone wont do your work justice.

Re: LT1 POWR's turbo build

Sitting at 495hp 491ft/lbs at about 7 psi and pretty conservative on the spark advance and AFR as I'm only running 91 octane. Hoping to try out the 10psi spring to see what it does.
