it had a GM Goodwrench alarm installed in 1996. Good idea about AZ testing it.

that works if the solenoid is bad (I did it on my other shop car - auto tranny). However, doing it my manual tranny car didn't work.

Did your FOB get wet? Have you tried the Programming steps on the FOB just for grins? If you still think it's the BCM I have a good working one here you can try. If needed, I can priority mail it to you on Monday morning. I'm back in upstate NY so it wouldn't take long to get to you.
dave, the FOB never got wet, and I tried to reprogram... nothing happened. I believe I need the 96 BCM, is yours for your 96 specifically?

Yes! I replaced it in an effort to see if that's what was causing my car to not start. Nope! I eventually found it to be the ignition switch (on top of the column, about halfway between the steering wheel and the firewall. Not the cylinder where you put in the key)
