How much boost can u run on 11.1:1 compression?

My new engine might look like this down below. Some time in the next 2 years i want to go turbo. How much boost can i run with this set up. Max and safely run.

383 11:1 compression, SRP forged pistons, 5.7 eagle 3-d 4340 rods, eagle forged crank, arp studs, balanced blueprinted, port and polished LT1 heads, cc306 cam.

That is alot of compression and not really ideal for a blower or turbo application. How much boost you can run will be dependant on what type of fuel you plan on running. I would say 4lbs of boost would be the max I would recommend. I would also recommend going with a nice water to air or air to air intercooler. You may want to try and open your combustion chamber up some to lower your compression. Overall for the power you will make with 4lbs of boost and cost involved in a turbo kit it is not worth the headache. I think you will be much more happier going with a nitrous. Is this car going to be a street car?

There was a GMHTP early this year where they claimed they had the fastest LT1 in the country.

20psi and 11:1 compression

I personally ran shaved heads and impala head gaskets, stock internals with my non intercooled blower.. i would see 7-9 psi.. went a while like that

tuning is critical

keep it coming guys
ROOSTER93V8 - What do u mean by awhile? Did something break? If so what was the cause of failure?

I have a lot of guys down here that know nitrous tuning really well... running 500-700 horse power (lt1 & ls1) with nitrous on stock bottom ends... Some of the guys run their cars all the time and its been 1-2 1/2 years for some. All have busted their rearends though. using ET's at the track. Their engines are still ok because of proper tuning..

Ive heard of some guys running boost on high compression engines also but there are no LT1's here that are running turbos that i know of.

I may just go nitrous but turbos are so much more fun..
Car will be daily driven... Run 93 octane.
I thought I could run at least 8 lbs safely because its a forged assembly. 10.5:1 compression on a regular LT1 and 6 lbs is pretty safe with a proper tune....

nothing was wrong with my motor... I replaced it becaues i wanted to go to the new optispark, fix a bunch of oil leaks, and swap camshafts.. tuned out to be better and easier just to rebuild a shortblock..

tunning is key.. don't be greedy with timeing either

I am running 11.1 compression. I have 8 lb pulley but only see 6 at the motor because of the cam. I want to put on 12 lb pulley but wont dare until I pull the heads and get some of the compression out of there. I have forged internals so I am not worried. Besides, high compression is not what breaks motors under boost, detonation is. I know a guy that has been running 12 lbs on his forged bottom 10.5 cmpressin for years. If I were you, make sure your kit has an intercooler.

Bad 97 ws-6, where is oak Creek in relation to Eau Claire? I just got stationed up here (working as a active duty advisor to the Army national guard)in the great soon to be white north. Coming from sunny SoCal this winter is going to be different! Hopefully close, I would like to see your setup someday if your close enough. Later

I have a 2 year tour up here! But all jokes aside it does get cold up in the high desert of California, but it just does not stay for very long. It has snowed on me when I was out doing manuvers, and dipped into the 20's, but by the next day the snow would be gone except for in the mountains. And when you are standing up through the top of a hummer firing a .50 cal and the wind chill is also 10-20 degress it does pretty much blow! BUt its still fun in a sadistic kind of way.
