I ran 18psi on my engine with C-12 and a junky intercooler with no problems and compression at 9.8:1. It blew the heads off at 21psi though

I run 10.5-1, with forged slugs, and a proper tune. I run 7-10 psi after a intercooler. I ran with the stock compression 10.3-10.5/1 with stock hypercrap slugs for over 95,000 miles and many years. Can it be done yes, but as I said before, get a proper setup and drive smart and it can last a long time.
