SC Questions

Just thinking of doing it. Question is will my engine hold up? I have 10.8:1 compression with forged pistons, cast crank and recon stock rods. If there is insufficient info in this and my sig, someone let me know and I'll post it.

Oh, also thinking of either Vortech or ATI.

TIA

The CR is too high for a blower and pump gas. I suppose if you had a huge cam you might get away with a few pounds of boost. But I'd advise against it.

what if he increased the cc's on his heads? drop the compression to 10 to 1, will that take about 6 lbs?

i think it would be better to hog out the CCs on the heads to lower the compression. whats the specs of your cam now?

I run 10.5/1 compression and run pump gas. I now have a set of Speed Pro forged slugs in the motor. I looked at it this way, the stock setup is at 10.3-10.5 - 1 with crappy pistons and it lasted me over 95,000 miles, so with better pistons and a good tune like I have it should last as long. And so far with over 2,000 miles on the "new"setup the cars runs strong. Also remember I am running a intercooler and I am what some people call a low boost setup 7-10 psi. Just my 2 cents. Good luck.
