New Muffler...
Re: New Muffler...
You will not see much in the way of power gains simply by changing the muffler. The main restriction is the stock 2.75" crimp-bent intermediate pipe. You want a full 3" catback, which attaches to your cat, includes the intermediate pipe and a new muffler.

www.sweet-thunder.com These sound amazing and DEEP. Had a set on my '04 GTO and loved them.
Re: New Muffler...
not looking for a gain.. just sound.. the one thats on it sounded great but i dont know how to tell what kind it is... but it has about a 3" hole in the bottom lol and starting to rattle
Re: New Muffler...
Honestly your best bet is to buy a cat-back system. The $100 for a good muffler and getting it put in you will be halfway to a cat-back.
The slightly bigger pipe will likely give you a little deeper tone as well- which most people prefer...

IF you're looking for a muffler configured like the stock muffler then look at the Magnaflow(#12267), Hooker(#21729HKR), or even a Spintech(#343SC). If going with a single outlet is a option you're willing to go with, then your choices are really limitless.
In that case I'd look at the Flowmaster Super44(#943045), Hooker(#21506HKR), and Magnaflow(11219), then get a 90*pipe bend like a Dynomax(42344). For tips either tuck the pipe up and run a turndown or buy a nice Stainless Steel tip.
This can still be less than $200
