Ok well i live in Cali and the emissions are tough here. Anyways, doesnt the y pipe come before the i pipe? Im talking about when i cut my old exhaust off and take out my y pipe, do i have to leave any of the sections on?

I live in Cali too man, I know all about the crazy laws here . Anyway, for a LT install, normally you just buy an aftermarket y-pipe (with cats or not, your choice), and that will bolt up to your catback. There is no need to keep any part or even hack up the stock y-pipe. I still have mine in factory form.
