And what does Green96Z mean by jacking up the engine, i never knew you can do that? Im getting these by the way https://securehost98.hrwebservices.n...&productId=112 and the y pipe that follows it. Do i still have to jack up the engine? what kind of headers are you running GTP?

I'm using the same headers. Everyone has their own methods of doing these. Unbolting a motor mount and jacking the engine is the route alot of people go. For the drivers side, I had the jack the front end of the car pretty high to snake the header in from underneath. For the drivers side, I removed the valve cover and that gave me just a hair bit more clearance to get that header in from the top.

Did you remove the oil dipstick too? Because as i am looking at the passenger side, it looks very difficult because of the wires as well as the oil dipsticks. And sorry again, but the i dont need o2 sensors since i already have them on my car right? I know i need the extensions and probably the o2 sims. But i can find any o2 sensors anywhere. I tried pretty much all the vendors but couldnt find them. Thanks

On the hookers I had to jack the passenger side up, remove the dipstick, spark plugs, starter, and altenator. Get two flat 02 extensions and just use the o2s you have for now, leave the back ones unplugged and get them tuned out or get sims.

Yes, the oil dipstick comes out, basically if something looks like it is in the way, it will most likely have to come out. As for the 02 sensors, you won't find them with any of the vendors, that is a dealer item.

Yes, all of that had to come out.

Did you feel noticeable power and sound when you installed them and ran em? And where is the starter located?

Lots of power. It is a very noticeable increase. The starter is on the passenger side of the engine. Two bolts hold it in, plus the two nuts that hold the wires to it.

http://shbox.com/1/starter_gear.jpg You shouldn't miss it when viewing from underneath the car. It is somewhat bulky and heavy.

Ok well i talked to my AutoTech intructor, he said he cannot allow any installment of illegal headers since he is a certified smog inspector. The LTs with the EGR and AIR are smog legal correct? And an off topic ?, when i cut the I pipe, do i cut the whole thing of all the way to the my maganflows?

No, they technically are illegal because they do not have cats. If you were to use cats, because of the dimensions of the long tubes, they will place the cats further downstream which is another violation in itself.

Longtubes are illegal in emission states because they move the stock location of the cats. If your state honors those emissions laws, then you will automatically fail inspection, whether you pass the sniffer or not. Most who install LTs live in states where there are no smog inspections. Or find a smog shop that does not look as hard as the others.

I'm not sure what you are talking about here. Are you asking how much of the stock y-pipe you have to leave for LTs?
