*ADVICE* - headers/y-pipes
*ADVICE* - headers/y-pipes
Hey everyone, ive got a 2000 Z28 and am intrested in installing headers and y pipes. Ive been looking at the flowtech headers/ypipes......Any Suggestions or opinions would help a bunch. Also, i was wondering if a coating on the headers mattered that much?
Thanks, Scott - (2000 Z28 - A4, ttops, flowmaster exhaust, 4.11 gear ratio)

Coating is VERY IMPORTANT! Headers and y pipes will rust and have 1/2 life span, if that, of coated or stainless material. Don't know much about flowtech but I did have a good experience with Pacesetter headers. No rusting, good fitment, descent sound. I had a TSP ORY and had ground clearance issues. The u bolts they sent were way too long. just my .02, good luck!
I think it all depends on what your looking for..
basicly all headers will give you the same amount of HP gain give or take a few. many like the pacesetters cuz they're cheap and they work. you can get them coated also.
If you want the headers to last a LONG time and look good you have to go to the other end of the line. KOOKS, QTP, are good but way way more than say pacesetters.
I haven't heard much about flowtech (good bad price etc.)although I have seen people have them in their sig.
another thing to note is that when you buy headers from one company its a nice idea to purchase the y-pipe from them also, because most y-pipes aren't really mix and match.
