bolt-on rwhp
bolt-on rwhp
What is the differnece between crank horsepower and horsepower to the wheels? and how much rwhp does a stock 94-97 z28 come with? How much increase would expect to see with pretty significant bolt-ons minus cams on the rwhp?......Anybody proud of their exhaust set up...post some pics i wanna get an idea for a nice custom set up...prefferably something ended at the rear axel....
There are two diffrent classifications for HP. HP at the fly wheel and HP at the wheels. Fly wheel HP will always be higher because there is no losses that it has to go through. When you have a transmission and a rear end to go through you lose a certain percent of your engines horsepower. These losses can be pretty significant.
If I remeber correctly the 94 had in the neighborhood of 285HP at the wheels. Could be wrong but thats something that can be googled.
Headers and a cam will wake your car up considerably. I would focus your time on track numbers as apposed to HP numbers. You can have the best HP numbers but still have terrible 1/4 mile.
I don't have any pics of my exhaust but it is similar to what you would see on any true dual 4th Gen. There are pictures all over this sight. Do a search.

All LT1s were rated at 275 Hp to the flywheel, except the SS versions and dual cat cars, which put out about 300fwhp and 285 fwhp respectivly. I have read that some good running stock LT1 cars dyno at ~260 to the rear wheels.
