Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
Who all is using it?
What is your set-up?
How do you like it?
Miles on the clutch?
Chatter?Can you slip it?etc etc
Looking into a clutch real soon and I am thinking about this one.
Need to know how it is holding up and driving.
thanks a lot, Troy

Re: Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
i'm not sure it is the clutch that is my problem, but i have a centerforce dual friction in my z and after only 40,000 of normal street driving i cant get the tranny in revers at a stop at idle. ive heard good things about spec and hayes
Re: Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
I am talking about the newer updated centerforce 12" dual friction.
It came about about a year ago. Part number is df395010.
40,000 aint to bad for an aftermarket HP clutch. I havent heard of many spec 3's lasting that long.

Re: Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
I have it, I've only put 700 miles on it and it seems okay, it has some occasionl chatter but it holds nicely when I get on it. The only thing I don't like about it is the pressure plate is kind of soft. Oh yeah, and I got raped on the install, 1700 bucks.
Re: Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
umm. i hope you got a tranny rebuild included along with the clutch install for that price...

dang $1,700 you could've bought a nice beater and taken all the time you need to do the clutch yourself. my stepdad's friend has a shop and put in mine for $300. i'm not sure if i have the "new updated" one but last october i got a centerforce dual friction. same as other people have said, after some so/so street launches or just getting on it, its hard to get it into reverse. some occasional chatter. it holds really well though
just my $.02

Re: Who is using the 12" Centerforce?
That is the m ain reason they updated it. The older clutches had some kind of clearance problem due to some kind of engagement/disengagement issue.
And I think the part number is for the ls1 only.
Anyone else?....no one is replying on ls1tech....as usual

Interesting. I ordered a new Centerforce only about a month ago and hadn't even heard about any updates (was happy with the performance of the last one). It came with part number DF039020. Have they updated it again?
