Re: turbo 400 swap

th350 or th400
non-lockup converter compatible with new trans
modify coolant lines/add trans cooler
trans dipstick
torque arm must be modified
shifter must be modified
if car is not obd1 you'll probably need to remove the trans ecu programming

Re: turbo 400 swap

Like a said, a search will give a comprehensive answer. But in addition to the above you will need to modify the tranny mount/crossmember, a new torque arm that mounts to the chassis (not the tailhousing), correct length driveshaft. Probalby leaving stuff out.

I hope your ahppy with the swap. Mine was great at the strip but serious sucked on the street. I had it in for two years and went back to a T56.

Re: turbo 400 swap

You'll have to have the correct VSS sensor on the TH400 tailshaft.

not sure if im going with the swap im just very interested,

oh and yeah i didnt even think about searching , mybad

also do u think a 4l60e performance rebuild is worth it? im plan on using a 100-125 shot an im worried about the tranny. last day it was out it was acting a little weird.

Re: turbo 400 swap

I think the 4L60E can be built to handle a 125 shot. If you plan to do a lot of street driving, you are REALLY going to miss that OD. Injuneer's solution (GV OD) works but is heavy and $$$.

thanks rich

im bouncing between ideas here, but if a performance rebuild would be able to handle and perform well for me i figure i can work with what i got.

this years build consists of mild cam and the 125 shot, somwhere between 420-450hp and 500+tq. So if a 4l60e upgrade may be worth ill take ur word for it. what do ya think?

the 400 is still settling in mind for next years motor build ,

loook forward to seeing u out this year
