Transmission Swap *Too tight?*

Putting the transmission back in tonight and all is going well... except one pretty damn big problem The torque converter to flywheel is way too tight. The engine doesnt wanna spin, it seems very pressed together. This is not normal... WTF it should spin Free. Any ideas WTF is wrong?

...Converter's not all the way in. You've probably broken the pump already.

it seated on both sets of splines so I duno if its not on all the way or not. Seems like the input is too long on it or something, i duno. Does it have to set 3 times? It deffinatly clicked down over both sets of splines. How can I see if the pump is dead?

Ran into the same problem probably 5 different times on older GM transmissions (TH350/700r4). For future reference, the key to most GM transmissions is 3 clicks on the torque converter to get it all the way set it.

you are going to need a trans shop to pull the pump out and check it now that you have been trying to force it in. i would bet the pump is already broken
