recently my transmission has started acting up. If i put it into drive or overdrive and step on the gas the car barely moves until i get up to about 30 mph and then it starts to drive normally, except that it makes an odd grinding noise. if i put it into 2nd or low gear then the car will start off normally. Any ideas?

Probably get best results on the "Drivetrain" forum. I'll move your post there, noting that you appear to have an LT1, since you originally posted in "LT1 Based Engine Tech".

You might want to add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, trans, and any major mods.

 

Not sure about the noise but sounds like pcm is in limp mode i would scan for codes
