Red face Busted t56?

Car is a 95 Z28 6 speed, 191,000 ish miles.

First off a little background info: about a year ago I was backing out of my driveway and my trans jumped out of gear very very hard, I actually thought I had hit something it jumped out so hard. Anyways, clutch felt spongey and was hard to get in gear, mile or two later the clutch was completely gone. Clutch fork was also broken in three places.

Replaced all the hydrolics, clutch (Ram HDX), fork, etc. One hundred miles into break in I thought I had blown a headgasket so I parked it for almost a year before I finaly tore into it just to find out I had a small leak in the cooling system which made it boil over. (I thought it was burning coolant when it happened for some reason)

Well I finaly had it road worthy again, bought some F1 wheels and stuff for it, I put the wheels on and set it off the stands and I try to move the car only to find out its hung up in reverse. And that's my latest problem.

The shifter moves freely, glides in and out of gear easily, but it hangs up in reverse (and only reverse) internaly (shifter is in N, but if you let the clutch out, the car will back up under power) . If I shake the shifter a lot it sometimes comes out of gear but it always hangs back up when I put it back in reverse.

I'm no transmission guy by any means so I have no clue what the problem is specificaly or how to fix it or what it will cost. Any help or info is appreciated!

Ouch, that sucks. Could be a few things, bent reverse fork, broken shifter linkage, etc. You won't know the extent of the damage until you tear into it. Sounds like its time for a rebuild.
