trans slip from stop

My car just started doing this the other day. It is a 94 z28 with the 4l60-e. If I put the shifter in drive or overdrive it will rev up to about 1100 rpm in first before it will move. If the shifter is in 2nd it takes off normal. It is not throttle dependent. The check engine light is not on. Sometimes it will shift kinda slow. The car is missing kinda bad. Would the miss cause this or is it something more serious. Thanks for any help.

It sounds like you're seeing early signs of forward clutch failure. What condition is the fluid in? Is it discolored, or does it have a burnt smell?

The fluid looks fine. I havent drove it since it started acting up. I was hoping that it would be because of the miss but o well.

Would it cause more damage if I keep driving it or would it matter since the forward will have to be replaced anyways?
