tranny temp reads -40 on scan tool - code 59

ok, I just got my tranny rebuilt by a friend, It was driving good for like two days and then after stepping on it once, then I slowed down to a stop sign and when I took off it only has 1st and 2nd! so i scanned it and it said code 59 low tranny temp, then I went to the specs and it was at -40!!! so it sounds like a bad tranny temp sensor ( which is apart of the transmission range pressure switch assy.), but would that stop me from being able to go into 3rd and OD???? HELP!

Might get an answer in "Drivetrain".... not in LT1/LT4 Engine Tech. I'll move it for you.

ok, heres the deal now... i changed my pressure manifold switch which corrected some of my problem... now if i floor it, it will shift from 2nd to 3rd, but if I take off like normal it stays stuck in 2nd... when i plug the scan tool in again, it says im going 25 when I was really going 40ish, would my speed sensor be a problem with me being able to shift when supposed to?? need help guys

Yes. The computer uses the speed sensor to calibrate the transmissions shift timing.

Yes the speed sensor does affect shift timing , However I would really look at car electrical grounds two issues like that coming up at once troubles me.
