8-speed from a Peterbuilt or Freightliner? No seriously where is he getting the tranny from?

Re: Tranny swap

Add a Gear Vendor O/D unit to an A4 and he will have an 8-speed.

Re: Tranny swap

M6 swap needs:

Tranny
Bellhousing
Crossmember
Shifter
Shifter boot
Pedal assy. with linkage and hydraulics
Clutch
Flywheel

Cost depends on a number of variables. But a stock rebuilt tranny plus core is going to run ~$1,500 or close to $3,000 for a new one, a clutch/flywheel from $600-1,200, and the other parts maybe $500. So, figure in the $3,000 on up range for parts.

The PCM won't care. You're right, you need the console or something to voer the area around the boot.
