Go to my mods list and look over the "Drivetrain" section to see what's involved. You will end up requiring an A4 program in the PCM to get the speedometer correct, and that means you will have to deal with the codes for the missing 4L60E electronic interfaces. You will need a new driveshaft with a TH400 slip yoke, and a slightly different length. The M6 tranny cross-member can be modified to support the TH400. There are no clearance issues. The VSS from a mid-90's GMC truck can be used. Lokar now makes a longer dipstick tube, to get it forward, out from under the cowl.

You better like the high RPM buzz of the LT1 engine, because the lack of an O/D in the TH400 can be annoying. The Gear Vendor O/D unit it the fix, but it can get expensive, and it adds a lot of weight.

Thanks for the help. im sorta used to the buzz, i was running 3.73's so on the freeway it ran at 3,000rpm in o/d. im not planning on the freeway with the new build so im ok with the trans. a lot of people on the f-body forum im on are trying to talk me out of it. if its not that difficult to do whats the problem?

Alot of people tried talking me out of it too.
Its flat out the best thing I have ever done to the car.
I only reccomend keeping the OD if its a daily driver.
