TH-350 question

Greetings!

I have a question regarding my tranny (TH-350). I’ve already installed TCI Master Racing Ovehaul kit, B&M transpak shift kit and Adjustable Transmission Modular Valve. How can I set this gearbox to change gear upwards at aprox. 6000+RPM and not at 5500 like it does now.

My engine configuration is as follows:

Engine:

Chevy SB 383 stroker, Edelbrock RPM AirGap dual plane intake manifold, Dart Iron Eagle Heads with int:2.02 exh:1.60, roller rockers 1.5:1 ratio, carb Mighty Demon 825, Cam: CompCams Extreme Energy XE274H (duration @050: in:230, ex:236, lift in:.490, ex:.490), full length Hooker Headers, HEI ignition, forget pistons, forget crank, forget connection rods...

Tranny: TH-350 with TCI Master Racing Overhaul kit, B&M transpak shift and Adjustable Transmission Modulator Valve, B&M Holeshot 2400 Torque Converter

Rear end: GM 10 bolt, 3.23 gear ratio, Auburn gear Pro series LSD

Looking forward to your kind answers and thank you for your time...

Re: TH-350 question

The TH350 is governor controlled. Lighter weights and/or lighter springs in the governor will make it shift later. It's a "hit and miss" thing...I'd suggest only going a little at a time. 500 RPM difference should only require putting a lighter spring in place of (1) of the heavier ones. B&M sells a weight/spring kit.

Re: TH-350 question

I installed the B&M Governor Recalibration Kit in my TH350, and I love it. I can't remember which parts I installed, but I got the shift points to be between 6200 and 6300rpm right off the bat. I can go back and figure out which weights and springs I put in if you like.

Thank you very much for your swift and accurate response. I've decided to order this weight/spring kit.

I hope I'm not asking too much, but If you would be so kind and do that if it is not too much of a problem. I'd like to know which springs and weights are you using.

Re: TH-350 question

Sure thing. I would have gotten to it sooner, but I was wiped out by a nasty gastrointestinal virus. I'll try to figure it out by tomorrow.
