rear pinion angle question
rear pinion angle question
i have spohn TA and i put on a moser 9" I forget how to measure and adjust the pinion angle.
Do i want the braket connected to the third member pointing slightly downwards at 2* or is the other way around?
Also i just jacked the rear end up as little as i could to fit under the car and put the angle finder on the TA braket and read the number. Do ihave to measure the DS also?
What is the easiest way to mesure and adjust for proper angle?

The rear suspension needs to be fully loaded. That means either you put it on a lift that supports the wheels, or you put jackstands under the axle tubes.
Then, you want the pinion shaft and the driveshaft to form a "\ /", pointing down toward the ground. You measure the driveshaft angle off horizontal, then you measure the pinion shaft angle (using a level under the bottom plate of the TA mount), and the difference of those two angles should be 2 degrees.
