I have a 1984 Z28 with the a 10 bolt cover/26-spline/7.5" dia./3.73 ratio rear end assembly (the stock arrangement). I need a new ring/pinion gear set and also wish to upgrade the other comonents as well. I plan on using a Detroit TrueTrac or Auburn Mfg. differential (they both make a gear driven model which reads as very reliable). I also believe I would like to upgrade to 28-spline axles as I have recently upgraded the motor/tranny from stock.

My question: 1) Will this setup work using the same rear end housing I currently have?
