posi failing?

What are some telltale signs of a posi failing? I just got my 94 back from 3 weeks at the body shop and now when I get on it it feels like it is sending all power to one side. (passenger side) I think someone was fooling around and now the posi is shot. Is this a regular sign, or is something else causing this?

I had some leaking, so it might not have much fluid in it either. I plan on checking this tomorrow.

Thanks

Find a deserted street or parking lot, wind it up and break 'em loose. If you get 2 stripes of black rubber the Posi is working, if you only get one stripe, its on its way out or gone.

tommythakat is simply a smart a$$. I spend all kinds of time moving his posts, and he jumps on me for missing this one. Of course he is correct.... and still a smart a$$.

I guess he missed the part of the rules he read when he signed up that said if you have a problem with a moderator, to take it up in a PM, and NOT to post it in a thread..... oh well - strike 2, and I'm watching for strike 3.

Takes all kinds.

Re: posi failing?

It may not be shot yet. Drain the old oil out of the rear and add new gear oil. Something good like redline. That may save it for awhile longer.

Re: posi failing?

Well, I refilled the differential and tried to lay down some tread. Wound up with only 1 tread, so the posi is shot. What are some good choices for replacement?
