output shaft question

got a little rattle going on when the clutch pedal isnt pushed in rather driving or out of gear.i got a new clutch and throwout bearing to put in cuz i think its the throw out bearing and is old and time for it. but a guy that runs a shop tells me it could be the output shaft bearing also. question is, is this true? and if so what can i do to replace this? ive read the viper ones can be used and do they go right in without extra parts and modifying anyhthing?

Its not unusual for the input shaft to rattle on a T56.

did it last night. the pressure plate is cracked in 3 spots, the clutch disk is about gone, and the throw out bearing is toast. the clip wasnt in there to hold it in place and it was bouncing around everywhere to. got a spec clutch from a guy on this site i had put in yesterday also that didnt work. pressure plate wont release at all. so im trying to figure out the problem. its grinding bad when the clutch is pushed in. cant drive it now. im pretty mad. ill find out tomorrow

did some research and found alot of people having problems with the clutch fork hitting the pressure plate with the same results that mine is doing with the grinding real bad with the clutch pedal to the floor. so i was gonna check that out today and told my friend about it last night whos shop the car is in right now and he woke me up at 6am this morning telling me that was the problem and that he grinded a quarter inch off the fork for clearance and should fix the problem. we didnt have a chance to look at it the other night being we didnt get the clutch in and car on the ground til 12am that night it was grinding. we called it a night after that. hes crazy doing this so early but he is a true friend. glad thats all cleared up. thought i got a wrong clutch but didnt. thanks
