To much atf?

just got mu CPT race 4l60e in and figured it would take 12 like it before. Put a quart in the converter and by the 10th quart it was coming out the over flow tube. Is this bad?

Just wondering if running it overfull will hurt the tranny? Do I need to drain some out?

Too much is bad. Drain and refill to proper level.

Did you change to a smaller converter at the same time as the tranny? The converter will not hold as much as stock so that might account for some of the difference.

Unless you have a drain plug in the transmission pan, you'll have to drop the pan to drain out the fluid. I've heard of people using a small siphon tube/pump down the dipstick tube, but I've never tried it...
