LT1 high idle with t56
LT1 high idle with t56
Hi guys,
I'm having a high idle with my LT1 -- it's idling at about 1100 when I'm in neutral. When I start up in first, the rpms drop to what i feel like is a normal idle (maybe around 800) and then it increases (as it should) as I wind the engine up.
I'm running a t56 -- I don't think there are any leaks, and i recently changed all the intake gaskets, etc and torqued them down to spec. Is there anything I can do to check and fix this idle? The O2 sensors are new, and there aren't any exhaust leaks or anything like that.
Should I mess with the set screw on the throttle body?

Put a scanner on it and check the idle air control (IAC) counts. Watch how they respond to the high idle speed. Stock PCM programming is 800rpm, fully warmed up. But you need to watch the actual RPM on the scanner. The stock tach typically reads 100-200rpm higher than actual engine RPM.
